FCH was founded in 1986 by David Neale and John Brezzo, both successful developers in San Jose, and since that time has developed housing for 436 households, with another 368 units in progress. FCH strategically locates their developments near public transit and was one of the first developers to offer free EcoPasses to residents to reduce dependence on private cars. They have won awards for architectural design and are committed to the use of “green” building materials.
Their flagship development, Rincon de Los Esteros, won a Gold Nugget “Best in the West” Award from the Pacific Coast Builders Conference and earned FCH a nomination as “Developer of the Decade” by the City of San Jose. The development is a 246-unit affordable housing project on a 7.7 acre site in north San Jose that architectural tools such as individual stoop entrances and gates to patios encourage strong resident interaction. Another development, El Paseo Studios, provides 98 urban suites tailored to single occupancy. The “gateway” project is located on a half-acre infill site flanked by Westgate Shopping Center to the North and The El Paseo de Saratoga Theater Complex to the South. The development is in close proximity to major transportation thoroughfares and Regional Shopping Centers.
