Marin City

BRIDGE, a non-profit regional development corporation, provides distressed urban areas with opportunities for economic revitalization through mixed-income and mixed-use developments. Bridge is nationally known the aesthetic and functional success of its developments and for its financial savvy in a field strewn with complications. Since its founding in 1983, BRIDGE has developed 8,500 units valued at over $800 million, and has over 150 more units in the pipeline.

One of a number of infill projects by BRIDGE, Strobridge Court achieves the dual goal of supplying much-needed affordable housing and decreasing the auto-dependency of its residents. The project contains 96 affordable units for seniors and families, a BART Police substation on the ground floor, and offers residents an opportunity to minimize commute time by walking directly into the Castro Valley BART station.

BRIDGE has also managed large-scale projects. Marin City, a mixed-use affordable housing project in Marin County, is a city unto its own. The 47-acre, $75 million project includes 340 units (146 of which are affordable), a shopping center, library, church, parks, child care and community facilities, wetlands habitat, and a new freeway interchange.
