David Neale and Core Development Inc have pioneered both affordable and market rate infill housing in San Jose since the late 1970’s, developing almost 1,000 homes. Starting out rehabilitating Victorian buildings in downtown San Jose, David Neale has tackled some of the more innovative and challenging new housing construction in the City.

Core Development secured the land and led the development of several affordable housing complexes and jointly developed over 300 units of family housing and over 200 units of senior housing. Current plans include construction of an 88-unit affordable housing complex in San Jose. Core Development has also completed several interesting market rate projects on infill sites. Market Gateway, one of the first live/work complexes, combines a four-story modern building on Market Street with Victorian style two-story town homes. This innovative design ties in modern high-density San Jose with one of its older residential neighborhoods.

Located in downtown Campbell and completed in 1999, Orchard Grove provides 20 3- bedroom Single Family Homes at a density of 12 dwellings per acre. The project was constructed in two and three story wood frame structures. Live/work units were constructed on some lots of the downtown business district adjacent to the project.
